ACT Task Force to the Billapaloola Fire near Tumut NSW
ACT is sending 50 firefighters to help battle a fire near Tumut in NSW.
This morning an ACT RFS taskforce of some 25 bushfire fighters left Canberra at around 5.00am for Tumut. The task force comprised of 4 heavy tankers, 1 light unit and 1 command unit.
Another 25 bushfire fighters will leave this afternoon.
The Billapaloola Fire has burnt around 13,000ha of land, mostly in pine plantations.
