ACT RFS RAFT crews deployed to the Bega (Brogo Complex) Fires NSW

On Friday 12 January Lightning strikes started a number of fires between the Brogo River and Galoon Creek in the headwaters of the Brogo Dam Catchment in the Wadbilliga National Park, approximately 25 kilometres north-west of Bega.

RAFT Crews from the ACT Parks Brigade, Rivers, Jerrabomberra and Gungahlin Volunteer Bushfire Brigades were deployed to assist crews from NSW RFS, NSW National Parks and RAFT Teams from Blue Mountains, NPWS South and North Coast.

On the 15 January a Section 44 Bush Fire Emergency was declared. The fires burnt out over 450 hectares of steep bushland in the Brogo Dam catchment.
