In 1970 the Briagde bought a 1969 International C1300/4WD tanker with a 300 gallon tank (Unit 121). This vehicle was replaced in 1990 with a Village Protection Unit (MSO 20) built by the Victorian Country Fire Authority.
Until its de-commissioning in the early 1990's the Brigade also manned the Stromlo Fire Tower.
Over the last 3 years the Brigade was trained by the ACT Urban Fire Brigade in structural firefighting (including breathing apparatus) to provide the Mt Stromlo Village and the Observatory with some basic structural fire protection.
It was disbanded on the 30th June 1996.
