The presentation was held at the Albert Hall on the 29 Jan 1993 the first such Award for ACT bushfire fighters. The Awards were presented by Mr Terry Connolly MLA, Minister for Urban Services. In all 116 Medals and 87 Clasps were presented.
The sum years of service by the recipients (up to 1 Jan 1993) was 3115 years at an average of 27.1 years.
The recipients were broken up as 47% volunteer and 53% Departmental (ACT Forests and Parks and Conservation)
