The McIntyres Fire threatened to jump containment lines in NSW, putting the north side on alert. There were numerous responses to possible fires by crews but all were false alarms caused by the high level of public apprehension.

Most of the fire threats had now subsided in the ACT. Units were being deployed to the southern part of the Territory where there was still active fire.

The Forest Fire Danger Index on Sunday 26th was up into the ‘Extreme’ range again.

The State of Emergency was revoked on 28 January.
