Recovery operations had begun in earnest. Fires continued to
burn in isolation but the main fire run had stopped except to
the south where the dangers persisted. Extreme fire weather
was still predicted for several days.
Protection measures were being placed around the northern urban interface. |
Queensland Fire Services were sending a task force to assist in the operations to the north to protect the suburbs. The McIntyres Fire was still threatening to make another run to the north and cross the Murrumbidgee River. Teams set up to deal with injured animals began visiting rural properties. Emergency Services attended numerous callouts to storm-damaged houses and buildings affected by the very high winds. |
