| Back burning was continuing but proving difficult at times due to fire behaviour. ACT units were no longer involved in NSW but liaison was continuing. A helicopter assisting with water bombing crashed into Bendora Dam, so resources were diverted to assist in the rescue effort, with the ACT Fire Brigade coordinating the recovery. Overnight the Stockyard Spur Fire continued to expand, reaching Mt Ginini and continuing west, thus reducing options to stop its progress. Possible containment lines now lay within Kosciuszko National Park. |
The northern edge of the Gingera Fire continued to within one
kilometre of the Stockyard fire.
Additional requests were made to EMA for more military resources. Resources now on site included water carters, full catering support such as large refrigerators and generators, additional toilets, rest sites, communication vehicles, weather stations, trucks for refuelling heavy plant and firefighting units. Major works were undertaken to complete containment lines, and other management trails were brushed up to create fallback positions for proposed back burns |
